Hello, I have missed you and this space
Excited to be back and sharing some springtime favorites with my favorite people!
Dearest Friends,
I have missed you and writing in this space so very much! I have been working on the dreamiest and most exciting thing that has taken up most of my free time and I can’t wait to share it with you in the near future!
In the meantime…
Spring
The flowers are blooming, baby birds are chirping, and sun tea is brewing on the windowsill. I am in a period of spring revival and so grateful for it! I am convinced spring is one of the prettiest times in Virginia and I am soaking up every walk, drive, and moment surrounded in the emerald of Virginia green.
Recipes and Kitchen
Springtime calls for freshly squeeze juice and I simply can’t get enough. Whether it is orange, grapefruit, or tangerine I truly could enjoy it all day. I highly recommend this juicer that makes homemade juicing so easy and eliminates the sticky mess of citrus. P.s. My personal favorite is a blush juice - half orange juice and half grapefruit juice.
We also joined a local CSA and I couldn’t be more excited! Growing up we always delighted in our visits to the farm to get our local share and now that my mom is right down the road I am tickled that we get to share in that sweet memory here again. We visited the Bellair farm this past weekend and it is so darling. I am not sure if I am more excited about the pick your own field with flowers, herbs, peppers, and tomatoes or the weekly farm fresh veggies coming into our kitchen.

Books
I have been in a season where life feels so buys - hello Maycember! - but the love for reading persists! I have found that on a sunny day, carving out a few minutes for reading on the back porch is just good for the soul. Looking forward to much more of that this summer!
Things I am Loving
1. How cute is this Book Party idea? I love how they incorporate different ways to host this for the book lovers in your life. Plus what is better than sharing one of your favorite reads with friends? Hosting one of these is definitely on my summer bucket list!
2. This is my new favorite eye shadow roll on stick. Truly, Laura Mercier has perfected this make-up item. It goes on smooth as silky butter (or should I say caviar) and they have so many colors. There are both matte or shimmer options, but my personal favorite is the Moonlight.
3. I always love the new scents that Mrs. Meyers comes out with and this Clementine is all things summer citrus.
4. I love this sweater for July 4th (assuming it isn’t crazy hot!) and this boatneck tee looks to be so flattering and the perfect summer staple. Both are sitting in my cart just waiting for me to hit purchase!
Food for thought
The other day someone complimented me on the curtains we had hung up in our living room. Two out of the four are up and I found myself immediately saying, “Oh thank you, but we have so much more to do in here and haven’t even finished hanging up all the curtains…” It felt like I had this incessant need to explain why the whole room wasn’t yet finished. Jordan pulled me aside and whispered, “take the compliment, you don’t need to offer up an excuse, they genuinely love the curtains and we’re off to a good start.” It had me wondering why I always jump into the need to explain what more is on the horizon, instead of simply taking a kind compliment. If this is also something you do, let this be your reminder that even though we have the endless to do’s in our mind and there is always more we can add to make our house more a home, our work better, or expand on our creativity… celebrating small steps is worth it. So take in the moments to savor what has been checked off and appreciate compliments without going into all that must come next.
All my love for a June that brings sunshine kisses to your cheeks, toes in the pool or sand, and moments that become ingrained memories with dear family and friends!
XOXO,
Tate
P.s. I would be remiss if I didn’t write about my favorite part of this spring - Avery and Connor’s wedding! It was truly the most beautiful and magical day! I think there is something extra special about your little sister’s wedding and just the absolute love and joy you feel for them when they marry their person. Connor and Avery couldn’t be more perfect for each other and I just loved how evident that was in their ceremony and vows. From the sweetest ceremony, to a “stunalina” reception and the most vibrant dance floor - it was truly the party of a lifetime and every moment was perfection.
